Making a really nice and fluffy sponge cake is a real art. But we are sure that you can definitely master it with our advice. This time we want to talk about chocolate sponge cake, and we found as many as fifteen recipes!
1. Classic chocolate biscuit
A very popular recipe is a 6-egg biscuit. Catch the perfect proportions!
You will need: 6 eggs, 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar, 2.5 tbsp. cocoa.
Preparation: For a few minutes, beat the egg whites with a mixer until fluffy. Add half the sugar and beat again, then repeat with the yolks and the remaining sugar. Combine both masses and add sifted cocoa flour. Bake in the oven at 180 degrees for 45 minutes.
2. Chocolate sponge cake on yolks
Sponge cake with yolks is perfect for making cakes.
You will need: 6 yolks, 100 g sugar, 50 ml water, 80 g flour, 30 g starch, 30 g cocoa, 5 g baking powder.
Preparation: Beat the yolks with sugar until white and gradually pour in warm water. Separately mix the sifted dry ingredients, gradually combine both masses and bake the chocolate biscuit for about 20 minutes at 200 degrees.
3. Sponge cake with dark chocolate
Thanks to dark chocolate, the taste is more expressive and rich.
You will need: 100 g butter, 100 g flour, 150 g sugar, 4 eggs, 100 g dark chocolate, 10 g baking powder, a pinch of salt, 20 g vanilla sugar.
Preparation: Combine soft butter with 1/3 sugar and vanilla sugar, and gradually add melted chocolate. Rub the mixture with yolks and add flour with salt and baking powder. Whisk the whites to the peaks with the rest of the sugar, and add to the dough too. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes at 170 degrees.
4. Sponge cake with white chocolate
A very unusual chocolate sponge cake recipe that you have hardly tasted before!
You will need: 6 eggs, 130 g flour, 30 g starch, 160 g sugar, 50 g butter, 50 g white chocolate, 1 tsp. baking powder.
Preparation: Melt butter and chocolate, and beat eggs with sugar until fluffy white. Combine the sifted flour, starch and baking powder, and add a third to the eggs. Combine with the butter mixture, and then gradually add the remaining flour. Bake the biscuit for 30-40 minutes at 170 degrees.
5. Chocolate biscuit with coffee
We recommend using high quality instant coffee instead of ground coffee.
You will need: 6 eggs, 180 g sugar, 4 tablespoons. boiling water, 1 tbsp. coffee, 30 g cocoa, 150 g flour, 1 tsp. baking powder, 60 ml of vegetable oil.
Preparation: Sift flour with cocoa and baking powder, pour 2 tablespoons of coffee. boiling water, and beat eggs with sugar until bulk. Without stopping whisking, pour the remaining boiling water and butter to the eggs, and then half the flour. Add the second part of flour and coffee, mix gently and bake in the oven for 40 minutes at 180 degrees.
6. Chocolate sponge cake with nuts
Be sure to chop smaller nuts.
You will need: 200 g butter, 4 tablespoons cocoa, 0.5 cups milk, 1.5 cups sugar, 2 cups flour, 10 g baking powder, 4 eggs, 0.5 cups nuts.
Preparation: Mix melted butter with cocoa, sugar and milk and bring to a boil. When the mixture has cooled, add the nuts, eggs and baking powder and mix thoroughly. Bake for 30-40 minutes in the oven at 200 degrees.
7. Chocolate sponge cake in a slow cooker
A sponge cake in a slow cooker turns out to be no worse than in an oven.
You will need: 4 eggs, 200 g sugar, 110 g flour, 50 g cocoa.
Preparation: Beat 4 eggs until fluffy with sugar, about 5-7 minutes. Gradually add the sifted flour and cocoa, mix well and pour into a greased and floured bowl. Cook the chocolate sponge cake for about an hour on the baking setting.
8. Chocolate sponge cake without wheat flour
We suggest trying the recipe with almond flour!
You will need: 165 g almond flour, 25 g starch, 20 g cocoa, 150 g icing sugar, 4 eggs, 2 proteins, 20 g sugar, 30 g butter.
Preparation: Mix thoroughly with a mixer the almond flour, icing sugar and 2 eggs. Gradually add the rest of the eggs, whisking until smooth and white. And beat the whites and sugar separately until soft peaks.
Gently mix the whites into the dough and add the sifted cocoa starch to the same. At the end, pour in the melted butter, stir again and bake the biscuit for 15-30 minutes at 180 degrees, depending on the thickness.
9. Chocolate sponge cake without mixer
It is believed that a mixer is a must for a light, fluffy dough. But try to make such a chocolate sponge cake!
You will need: 250 g flour, 250 g sugar, 150 ml yogurt, 100 ml vegetable oil, 50 g cocoa, 2 eggs, 1 tsp each. soda and baking powder, a pinch of salt, 3 tsp. coffee, 200 ml of boiling water.
Preparation: Combine all dry ingredients, pour boiling water over the coffee, and mix separately yogurt, eggs and butter. Combine all three parts together and mix until smooth. Bake the sponge cake in the oven for about 50 minutes at 180 degrees.
10. Chocolate sponge cake without eggs
A universal recipe for a sponge cake without eggs for cakes and other desserts.
You will need: 200 ml of kefir, 100 ml of vegetable oil, 150 g of sugar, 180 g of flour, 20 g of cocoa, 1 tsp. soda.
Preparation: Mix liquid and dry ingredients separately, and sift dry mixture into liquid. Knead the mass with a spatula until smooth, pour into a mold and bake for 30 minutes at 180 degrees.
11. Chocolate sponge cake with kefir
Any kefir, yogurt or sour milk is suitable for a beautiful porous biscuit.
You will need: 2 cups flour, 1.5 cups sugar, 3 eggs, 1 cup kefir, 0.5 cups vegetable oil, 3 tbsp. cocoa, 1 tsp. soda, a pinch of salt, vanillin.
Preparation: Mix sugar, cocoa, vanillin and soda, and pour in kefir. Beat eggs and salt until fluffy, and add to the kefir mixture with butter. Stir until smooth and bake the chocolate sponge cake at 180 degrees for about 50 minutes.
12. Chocolate sponge cake with milk
Chocolate milk biscuit turns out to be very tender, soft and moist.
You will need: 340 ml milk, 2 eggs, 220 g sugar, 100 g butter, 50 g cocoa, 200 g flour, 2 tsp. baking powder.
Preparation: Whisk the eggs, milk and melted butter thoroughly. Gradually add sifted cocoa, baking powder and sugar. Leave the dough for 20 minutes and bake in the oven at 180 degrees for about 40 minutes.
13. Chocolate sponge cake in a frying pan
Of course, such a biscuit is different from the classic one, but it has a right to exist. From this amount of ingredients, 5 cakes will be obtained.
You will need: 260 g flour, 15 g cocoa, 160 g sugar, 10 g baking powder, 0.5 tsp. soda, 2 eggs, 50 ml of vegetable oil, 130 ml of milk, 150 ml of water.
Preparation: Mix the sifted flour and cocoa with the rest of the dry ingredients. Add eggs to the mixture, stir and gradually add butter and milk. At the very end, add hot water, stir the dough again and fry the biscuit over medium heat under a lid for 4 minutes on each side.
14. Chocolate sponge cake on boiling water
You can even quench soda with boiling water, so it just gives the desired texture.
You will need: 2 eggs, 2 cups of sugar, 1 cup of milk, 30 g of butter, 1 cup of boiling water, 6 tbsp. cocoa, 2 cups flour, 1.5 tsp each. soda and baking powder.
Preparation: Mix all dry ingredients and beat eggs with milk and melted butter. Combine both mixtures, pour in boiling water and quickly stir the dough. Bake in the oven for about an hour at 160-170 degrees.
15. Chocolate sponge cake in vegetable oil
Be sure to choose oil that is odorless and has a pronounced taste.
You will need: 50 ml of vegetable oil, 200 ml of water, 150 ml of milk, 230 g of sugar, a pinch of salt, 2 eggs, 1 tsp each. soda and baking powder, 200 g flour, 40 g cocoa.
Preparation: Combine the sifted dry ingredients and beat the eggs, sugar and salt separately.Add half of the dry mixture to the eggs, and then step by step milk, butter, the remaining flour and boiling water. Stir again after each step and bake the chocolate sponge cake for about 40 minutes at 180 degrees.
