1. Lean corn porridge
If desired, sift the cereal through a sieve to remove foreign matter.
You will need: 1 cup of corn grits, 3 cups of water, 1 onion, 30 ml of vegetable oil, salt.
Preparation: Add salt, washed cereal to boiling water and cook for 15-20 minutes over low heat. Finely chop the onion and fry until golden brown. Pour the roast into the porridge, heat it for 2 minutes on the fire and turn it off.
2. Corn porridge with milk
During cooking, the porridge increases by 4-5 times.
You will need: 1 glass of corn grits, 400 ml of milk, 1 glass of water, a pinch of salt, 1 tbsp. sugar, 20 g butter.
Preparation: Boil water with milk, add salt, washed cereal and boil 15 minutes after boiling. Add sugar, butter, stir and leave covered for 10 minutes.
3. Corn porridge with cracklings
Rinse the cereal until the water becomes completely clear.
You will need: 200 g of corn grits, 3 glasses of water, 100 g of salted lard, 1 onion, salt.
Preparation: Boil water, add salt and washed corn grits. Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes. Finely chop the bacon and fry in a pan for 3 minutes, add the chopped onion and continue to fry until golden brown. Pour the roast into the porridge, stir and remove from heat after 2 minutes.
4. Corn porridge with mushrooms and spinach
It is not recommended to cut the spinach with a knife, so it is better to tear it with your hands.
You will need: 1 cup of corn grits, 600 ml of water, 250 g of mushrooms, half a heap of spinach, 1 onion, 60 g of butter, salt.
Preparation: Add salt and washed corn grits to boiling water. Simmer for 15 minutes. Turn off, add 20 g of butter, stir and leave covered for 10 minutes.
Fry finely chopped onions and mushrooms until tender. Add chopped spinach and cover for 1 minute. Serve the corn porridge with mushrooms and spinach.
5. Corn millet porridge
Cook the porridge in a tall, heavy-bottomed saucepan.
You will need: 100 g of millet, 100 g of corn grits, 750 ml of water, a pinch of salt, 30 g of butter.
Preparation: Bring the water to a boil, salt, pour in washed cereals and simmer for 20 minutes after boiling. Remove the porridge from the heat, add oil and wrap it in a warm towel for half an hour.
6. Banosh
Popular Hutsul corn porridge.
You will need: 1 cup corn grits, 3 tablespoons corn flour, 200 ml of water, 800 g of sour cream, salt, 200 g of mushrooms, 1 onion, 3 tbsp. vegetable oil.
Preparation: Mix sour cream with water, salt and bring to a boil. Pour in the corn grits mixed with flour and cook for 10 minutes, stirring constantly.
Fry chopped mushrooms and onions until golden brown and pour into a banosh. Mix everything and wrap it up with a warm towel for 30 minutes.
7. Corn porridge with melted cheese
The cooking time for porridge depends on the grinding of the cereal.
You will need: 600 ml of water, 200 g of corn grits, 1 processed cheese, a pinch of salt, 20 g of butter.
Preparation: Boil water, add salt, washed corn grits and cook for 15 minutes. Add butter and sliced cheese. Stir, heat a minute on the fire and turn it off. Ready porridge should be infused under the lid for 10-15 minutes.
8. Corn porridge with egg and cream cheese
You can use chicken or quail eggs.
You will need: 1 cup corn grits, 3 cups water, 2 boiled eggs, 1 melted cheese, 20 g butter, a pinch of salt.
Preparation: Salt the water and bring to a boil. Pour in the washed cereal and simmer for 15 minutes. Add processed cheese, butter and stir. Cover the porridge with a lid and wrap it with a warm towel for 20 minutes. When serving, sprinkle the porridge with a finely chopped egg.
9. Corn porridge with cheese
The cheese portion can be increased by adding a couple of slices directly to the plate.
You will need: 1 cup corn grits, 600 ml water, 100 g blue cheese, 20 g butter, salt.
Preparation: Boil water, add salt and washed cereal. Cook for 15 minutes, add butter, diced blue cheese and stir. Remove the pot from the stove, wrap it with a warm towel and leave for 15 minutes.
10. Abkhazian corn porridge
Porridge is prepared with aromatic suluguni cheese.
You will need: 150 g of corn grits, 450 ml of water, 100 g of suluguni cheese, a pinch of salt, 30 g of butter.
Preparation: Pour salt and washed cereal into boiling water. Reduce heat to low and cook for 15 minutes. Add butter, finely chopped suluguni and heat for 2 minutes. Turn off and leave covered for 15 minutes.
11. Corn porridge with pumpkin and walnuts
A great option for delicious breakfast porridge.
You will need: 600 ml of water, 1 cup of corn grits, a handful of walnuts, 100 g of pumpkin, a pinch of salt, 1 tbsp. sugar, 20 g butter.
Preparation: Bring the water to a boil, add salt, finely chopped pumpkin and cook for 5 minutes. Add washed corn grits, reduce heat, and cook for another 15 minutes. Dry the nuts in a frying pan, chop in a blender and add to the porridge. Add sugar and butter at the end.
12. Polenta with cheese
Italian analogue of the popular hominy.
You will need: 1.5 cups of water, 100 g of corn grits, 100 g of corn flour, 50 g of hard cheese, 20 g of butter, salt to taste.
Preparation: Bring the water to a boil, salt, add oil and corn grits mixed with flour. Cook for 10 minutes, then cover and cook for another 10 minutes. Sprinkle the prepared porridge with finely grated cheese.
13. Corn porridge with semolina
Thanks to semolina, the porridge turns out to be softer and more tender!
You will need: 100 g of corn grits, 50 g of semolina, 2 glasses of milk, 2 glasses of water, a pinch of salt, 1 tsp. sugar, 20 g butter.
Preparation: Salt water and bring to a boil, add washed corn grits and cook for 10 minutes. Pour in boiling milk, stir and pour semolina in a thin stream. Boil for 3 minutes, remove from the stove, add butter, sugar and wrap with a warm towel for 15 minutes.
14. Corn porridge with eggplant and cheese
This recipe can be used to cook corn porridge with other vegetables.
You will need: 1 glass of corn grits, 3 glasses of water, 1 eggplant, 1 onion, 1 carrot, 80 g of hard cheese, 50 ml of vegetable oil, 30 g of butter, ground black pepper, salt.
Preparation: Salt water, boil, add washed cereal and boil for 15 minutes. Add butter and leave covered for 15 minutes.

15. Corn porridge with turkey

You will need: 1 glass of corn grits, 0.5 l of water, 200 g of turkey fillet, 1 onion, 1 tsp. salt, 3 black peppercorns, 2 green onion stalks, 50 ml of vegetable oil.
Preparation: Chop the onion, turkey and fry until golden brown. Add water, salt, spices and cook for 10 minutes. Pour in the washed cereal and cook for another 15 minutes over low heat. Sprinkle the cooked corn porridge with finely chopped green onions.
16. Corn porridge with ginger and oranges
An excellent porridge recipe for the cold season!
You will need: 150 g corn grits, 1 orange, 20 g ginger root, 2 tbsp. sugar, a pinch of salt, 0.5 tsp. turmeric, 1 tablespoon cream.
Preparation: Add salt and washed corn grits to boiling water. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Add cream, turmeric, sugar and chopped ginger and orange. Stir the porridge for 5 minutes. Turn off, cover and wrap with a towel for 15 minutes.
17. Corn porridge with ham and feta
You don't have to add oil, the fat from the frying will be enough.
You will need: 200 g of corn grits, 3 glasses of water, 200 g of ham, 100 g of feta cheese, 3 stalks of green onions, a pinch of salt, 30 g of butter.
Preparation: Boil water, add salt and washed corn grits. Boil the porridge 15 minutes after boiling.
Chop the ham and fry. Add chopped cheese and green onions. Serve the porridge sprinkled with grilled ham, cheese and onions.
18. Corn porridge with pumpkin and apples
You can sprinkle the finished dish with ground cinnamon.
You will need: 1 glass of corn grits, 0.5 l of water, 100 g of pumpkin, 2 apples, a pinch of salt, 2 tbsp. sugar, 30 g butter, vanillin on the tip of a knife.
Preparation: Cut the pumpkin and apples into small cubes. Boil water, salt and add pumpkin. Boil for 10 minutes, then add washed corn grits, apples, sugar and vanillin. Reduce heat and cook for another 15 minutes. Add oil and leave covered for 10 minutes.
19. Hominy in the oven
In the oven, corn porridge turns out to be even more fragrant.
You will need: 200 g corn grits, 3 glasses of water, 2 tbsp. lard, 1 tsp. salt, 3 black peppercorns.
Preparation: Rinse the groats and put them in a baking pot. Pour in hot water, add salt, lard and black pepper. Cover with a lid and send to an oven preheated to 180 degrees for an hour.
20. Corn porridge in a slow cooker
All ingredients are put into the multicooker at the same time, which significantly saves time.
You will need: 1 glass of corn grits, 400 ml of water, a glass of milk, 20 g of butter, a pinch of salt, 1 tbsp. Sahara.
