Fluffy and soft waffles are not only a delicious dessert. They can be safely served for breakfast, lunch and dinner, arbitrarily changing fillings and combinations. Cooking them is as easy as shelling pears when you already have something. So keep 12 recipes for Viennese waffles in an electric waffle iron for every taste!
1. Classic Viennese waffles
The recipe is perfect for sweet and savory toppings.
You will need: 150 g butter, 60 g sugar, 3 eggs, 250 ml milk, 200 g flour, 2 g vanilla, 0.5 tsp. baking powder.
Preparation: Grind butter with sugar and vanilla, add eggs and milk at room temperature. Mix the sifted flour with the rest of the dry ingredients, add to the dough, knead and leave for half an hour. Then bake the waffles right away.
2. Banana Viennese waffles
You can add any moderately juicy berries and fruits to the waffles.
You will need: 250 g bananas, 180 g flour, 100 g butter, 3 eggs, 5 g baking powder, a pinch of salt and cinnamon.
Preparation: Melt the butter, and while it cools, mash the bananas and beat the eggs until fluffy. Pour butter and mashed banana into the eggs, stir and add the sifted flour with baking powder and spices. The waffles can be baked.
3. Viennese curd waffles
If you also add bran, you get the most healthy and nutritious snack!
You will need: 2 tbsp soft cottage cheese, 2 tbsp. bran, 1 egg, 1 tbsp. starch, a pinch of baking powder, salt and sugar.
Preparation: Mix all dry ingredients and add cottage cheese and egg to them. Mash the mixture well, add spices to taste and pour into the waffle iron according to the instructions.
4. Vanilla Viennese waffles
You can use vanillin or vanilla sugar, but a regular pod is better.
You will need: 125 g flour, 100 g sugar, 2 eggs, 100 g butter, a pinch of baking powder, half a vanilla pod.
Preparation: Cut the vanilla pod, take out the seeds and chop it finely. Beat all the ingredients with a mixer until smooth and bake in an electric waffle iron.
5. Viennese waffles with semolina
Semolina makes waffles even softer, more tender and crumbly.
You will need: 2 eggs, 100 g sour cream, 100 g semolina, 250 butter, 100 g brown sugar, 0.5 tsp. baking powder, 100 g flour, 10 g vanilla sugar.
Preparation: Melt the butter and whisk it with sour cream and eggs. Add sugar, and then semolina with sifted flour. Stir, leave the dough for 20 minutes, add baking powder, stir again and pour into a waffle iron.
6. Lemon Viennese waffles
The expressive citrus taste is good for desserts and for red fish with curd cheese.
You will need: 150 g flour, 50 g sugar, 100 g butter, 100 ml milk, half a lemon, 5 g baking powder, 2 eggs, a pinch of salt.
Preparation: Rub the lemon zest and separate 1 tbsp. juice - they will go into the dough. Mix them with egg, milk, salt and baking powder, add sugar and whisk. Add sifted flour and bake lemon waffles.
7. Viennese waffles with peanut butter
To make them lighter and more airy, do not use whole eggs, but only white.
You will need: 250 ml milk, 200 g butter, 25 g sugar, a pinch of salt, 120 g protein, 0.5 tbsp. nut butter, 225 g flour.
Preparation: Mix the melted butter with room temperature milk and nut butter. Heat and cool the mixture, add sifted flour and salt to it. Whisk the whites and sugar, slowly combine the ingredients and bake the waffles in an electric waffle iron.
8. Viennese waffles on jelly
It is better to take dry jelly from bags that are in any supermarket.
You will need: 3 eggs, 3 yolks, 60 g of sugar, 1 bag of jelly, 60 ml of vegetable oil, 0.5 tsp. soda, 120 g flour.
Preparation: Beat eggs, yolks and sugar until fluffy, add jelly to them and beat again.Add sifted flour, butter and baking soda, knead the dough until smooth and bake the waffles.
9. Corn Viennese waffles
Instead of cornmeal, finely ground corn grits will do.
You will need: 2 eggs, 125 g sugar, 125 g butter, 200 ml milk, 1 tsp. baking powder, 150 g corn flour, 250 g wheat flour.
Preparation: Beat eggs with sugar and add melted butter and milk to them. Both types of flour are sifted with baking powder and combine the mixtures into a homogeneous, fairly thick dough. Bake in an electric waffle iron.
10. Viennese waffles without flour and sugar
A healthy gluten-free Viennese waffle recipe just for you!
You will need: 2 tbsp. oat and wheat bran, 1 egg, 1 tsp. baking powder, 4 tbsp. kefir, stevia, vanillin.
Preparation: Some of the bran can be replaced with fiber or corn grits, and kefir - with homemade yogurt. Mix dry ingredients, add egg and kefir to them, knead and bake.
11. Viennese waffles without butter
Add a teaspoon of your favorite jam if desired!
You will need: 4 eggs, 300 g flour, 100 g sugar, 200 ml milk, 1 tbsp. sour cream, 1 tsp. jam.
Preparation: Beat the eggs with room temperature milk and slowly add the sifted flour. Add sour cream with jam, mix the dough well again and bake the waffles.
12. Viennese waffles without eggs
It seems that this is impossible, but we also found such a recipe.
You will need: 320 g flour, 3 tablespoons sugar, 10 g baking powder, 450 ml of milk, 50 ml of vegetable oil.
Preparation: Mix the sifted flour with the rest of the dry ingredients and the butter with the milk. Slowly pour the liquid mixture into the dry mixture and stir with a whisk so that there are no lumps. Waffles can be baked in an electric waffle iron!
