Cosmic depths have attracted and fascinated people since ancient times. No one yet knew how the universe works, but everyone gazed at the sky with delight. 1. Gravity (2013)
One of the best films of its year has collected as many as seven Oscars, including "Best Director" by Alfonso Cuaron. Astronauts Ryan Stone (Sandra Bullock) and Matt Kowalski (George Clooney) are the only survivors of the space debris collision.
2. Interstellar (2014)
One of the best works by Christopher Nolan takes a fresh perspective on space and time on a cosmic scale. Former NASA pilot Joseph Cooper (Matthew McConaughey) finds mysterious dusty patterns on his daughter's bedroom floor. The film also stars Anne Hathaway, Matt Damon, Jessica Chastain and others.
3. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005)
The cult film based on the novel by Douglas Adams is already considered a classic for a reason. Earthling Arthur Dent (Martin Freeman) suddenly learns that they should demolish not only his house, but the entire planet. And his best friend Ford Perfect (Mos Def) is generally an alien.
4. Apollo 13 (1995)
The historical film by Ron Howard tells about the real mission of Apollo 13. Tom Hanks, Kevin Bacon, Ed Harris and others starred in the dramatic story of space exploration. Even the astronaut James Lovell, played by Tom Hanks, even appeared in a cameo role.
5. To the stars (2019)

Clint Eastwood's adventure film tells the story of the "old guard" - Air Force pilots who no one thought of until the Earth was threatened from space. The four main characters were played by Clint Eastwood himself, Tommy Lee Jones, Donald Sutherland and James Garner.

10. Oblivion (2013)
Sixty years ago, aliens destroyed the Moon and attacked the Earth, causing a series of natural disasters. Humanity managed to fight back, but the survivors are hiding in the space station. It is also home to former Marine Jack Harper (Tom Cruise) and communications officer Victoria (Andrea Riceborough).
11. A space odyssey of 2001 (1968)
Stanley Kubrick's science fiction film became a major milestone in the development of the entire world cinema. People meet mysterious black monoliths that influence the course of human evolution and radiate energy towards Jupiter. Starring Cyrus Dulli, Gary Lockwood and William Sylvester.
12. Europe (2013)
An international expedition sets out in search of life to Europa, the satellite of Jupiter. The film was shot in a pseudo-documentary style, in the form of video clips. Starring Sharlto Copley, Embeth Davidts, Mikael Nyquist and Christian Camargo.
13. Contact (1997)
Another cult work on our list, this time based on the novel by the outstanding astrophysicist and popularizer of science Carl Sagan. Ellie Arroway (Jodie Foster) participates in the program for the search for extraterrestrial civilizations, and finally receives a long-awaited signal.
14. Inferno (2007)
In 2057, the Sun continues to rapidly fade away, the Earth is covered with ice, and the crew of the Ikar-II ship must save everyone. On board is a powerful bomb that should start the sun again. The crew members were played by Cillian Murphy, Chris Evans, Rose Byrne and others.
